Welcome

Statement from Chief Harlin McEwen, PSST Chairman

The Public Safety Spectrum Trust is pleased to be leading the effort toward creating a nationwide wireless broadband network for public safety. Although our efforts have been delayed by the lack of a winning bid for 700 MHz D Block auction, we remain confident that 2008 will prove to be a landmark year for first responder communications. We will continue working with the bidder community, Congress and the FCC on getting the right rules in place to encourage a commercial entity to partner with public safety. The thoughts and recommendations of first responders around the country are an important component to the steps ahead - please contact us regarding the creation of this shared network built to meet public safety's mission-critical communications needs.

PSST Chairman Named Interim Chief Executive Officer

On January 22, 2008, the Board of Directors of the Public Safety Spectrum Trust voted to name the Board Chairman, Chief Harlin R. McEwen, to also serve as the interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the PSST. The Board of Directors is made up of dedicated individuals who have volunteered their time to make this important endeavor a success. The action to name a part-time interim CEO was taken in recognition of the growing responsibilities of the PSST and in response to the need for more attention to the day-to-day business of the PSST. Chief McEwen will be devoting some of his time at the offices of the PSST located in Washington, DC.
